Q: Are you competitively priced ?

Yes we are.  Most self contained accommodation in our immediate area ranges from $90pp/pn to $158pp/pn (on a weekend), our tariffs range from *$70pp/pn midweek and *$100pp/pn on a weekend and our classification is “Budget”

Much research went into looking at similar types of accommodation that sleep 6 to 8 persons in our area with similar features to establish our rates, we do however have a *minimum starting price based on 1 to 6 persons, this is to cover some of our minimum annual running costs for the property. Please understand that we cannot compete or be compared with larger or longer standing business’ in any way shape or form.

Q: Where is Reception ?

Reception is situated approx 50 metres back from the self contained house at the farmers residence/annex on the working nut farm.

Q: Can I stay one night on a weekend ?

Unfortunately no, as it’s not viable for our small business.

Many similar self contained accommodation providers have a minimum 2 night stay, and 3 nights on a public holiday weekend. We advise if you’re only looking to stay one night to book accommodation that specializes in one night weekends such as a Motel, B&B, or a large chain of Hotels.

FAQ’s

Q: Can we sleep more than 8 people if they bring their own linen and air mattress’s ?

No, we do not allow this for many valid reasons. It is against Occupational Health & Safety & our insurance regulations for more persons to occupy the property than there are beds to accommodate them. No mattresses, tents or caravans, or more cars than the property allows. We are very strict on this rule, so please abide by it, tenants will be evicted with no refund made.

The owners do live at the property full time and have the right to inspect their premises if given good cause to, and enforce their Terms and Conditions.

No, you cannot walk. Bear in mind that vineyards cover quite an expanse of land, so you’ll definitely need a car to get around. During concert weekends Rover Coaches provide 2 collection & 2 drop off times from the Retreat (a door to door service at $20pp return), bookable in advance only, please don’t leave it to the last minute, it’s your responsibility to get there.

Yes, dogs are allowed indoors as long as they are well behaved (well behaved means under control at all times) and fully house trained. We prefer you don’t leave them shut in all day while you’re out on a full day wine tour, please use the immediate garden around the house which has secured fencing approx 900mm lowest point, wooden post construction with wire mesh down into the ground. Alternately (if required) for larger dogs you can use our separate kennel run joined to the side of Reception, with wire fencing 1500mm high, shade, water and space to run around.

External pet sitting services are available through “The Critter Sitter” at additional fees, and must be booked direct with the company in advance with a 50% deposit and balance due 2 weeks prior to the dates the service is needed.

No, but we can provide Breakfast Hampers at an additional cost (ordered in advance only) ,we do however supply lots of little extra’s that most self contained cottages do not, we guarantee you will find everything you would ever need, for a short stay away, and more.

As we are only on Rain Water at the property, restricted use of the washing machine is in place, unless staying longer than 2 nights and have a half or full load. We do not have a dishwasher in the kitchen for the same reason, lack of water supply and misuse of efficiency.

Q: I’m concerned about your dog with our dog/s and young family members !

We’ve had Angus from a pup at 9 weeks old here on the farm, he is an extremely well socialized member of our family and gets along with everyone.  Angus is VERY placid and nice natured four legged human, loved so much by our guests that stay that by demand he even has his own Facebook page now “We love Angus Kennel club”

He has a job to do on the farm so you cannot ask for him to be tethered during your stay, if you are scared of dogs (even friendly ones like ours) this property isn’t for you.

Proof of our dogs up to date vaccinations can also be sighted for your peace of mind, that we too abide by the rules we set out for our guests.

Q: Can I have a late check out ?

We advertise on 24 hour live booking sites, which means that if someone likes our accommodation on-line and books and pays instantly with their credit card they will expect the house to be ready for their pending check-in time of 2pm, for which we need the maximum time allowed to clean the house for their arrival.

We can however advise you the night before your departure if we have received any instant bookings, and this may allow you to have a slightly later check-out time than usual if required. To guarantee a later check-out we advise negotiating a price for an extra half day or discount on a third night (but this must be locked in as early as possible to avoid disappointment).

Q: When do I get my Bond back ?

Once we are happy with the checking out report, we normally refund the bond within 14 days. However in most cases our average time to refund the security bond is 1 to 5 days from your departure, unless we need further time to cost replacement items etc.
